          Security-Related Litigation

          Considerations Before, During, and After an Incident

           No community association wants to face litigation, but the reality is that community

           association litigation has been increasing in the last decade.  Security-related litigation is especially

           detrimental to community associations because it calls into question a fundamental belief among 

                                   owners and residents that they are safe in their home. 

                                   To reduce an association's security-related liability, review actions that can be taken to 

                                   prevent incidents, actions that should be taken at the time of an incident, and actions to be taken after

                                   notice that an incident has occurred.
