LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITY

VERMONT

The Vermont Legislative Action Committee (VTLAC) is devoted to keeping informed of legislative issues affecting Vermont condominium communities.  Testifying at hearings, drafting and filing legislation and establishing a strong voice at the Vermont  state house and with legislators through grass roots efforts, the committee of CAI volunteer members seeks to preserve and enhance the community association lifestyle through legislative initiatives.

TITLE 27A:  UNIFORM COMMON INTEREST OWNERSHIP ACT (1984)

Volunteer members of the Vermont Legislative Action Committees (VTLAC) work countless hours throughout the year but new threats and opportunities require LACs to employ government affairs professionals in order to maintain a high-level of advocacy. Your contribution is critical in helping the VTLAC fulfill their advocacy mission and help shape the debate concerning issues important to Vermont community associations.

VERMONT BILLS

The LAC tracks a number of bills throughout the legislative session.  Bills of interest to the LAC are reviewed and monitored on a regular basis.

CAI PUBLIC POLICY STATEMENTS

To guide advocacy efforts, CAI's Government & Public Affairs Committee (G&PA Committee) has worked to develop public policy positions on key issue areas that affect CAI members. Because CAI is a membership organization, members can propose a public policy for consideration by the G&PA Committee and Board of Directors. Through member input, CAI develops, reviews and adopts public policy statements.
