Every condominium association relies on clear expectations, consistent decision-making, and effective governance to create a well-managed community. Board policies and codes of conduct promote ethical leadership, address conflicts of interest and confidentiality, and establish strategies for effective unit owner communication, while resident codes of conduct and policies establish expectations for common area use, noise, parking, pets, guests, and maintenance responsibilities. Together these standards can help reduce conflict, promote fairness, and support successful community governance.
This program explores how boards can develop and implement effective resident and board member codes of conduct, along with practical governance policies that remain consistent with Massachusetts condominium law and governing documents. Participants will learn best practices for promoting fairness, consistent enforcement, professional leadership, and transparent communication while minimizing liability, reducing conflict, and fostering greater trust within the community.
